About Anoka

Anoka, Minnesota is home of the "Halloween Capital of the World."  Anoka earned this title when they through the very first Halloween Parade in 1920.  They celebrate this title every year and thousands of people come from other cities to help celebrate this tradition!


Anoka borders both the Rum and Mississippi Rivers.  Dayton, Ramsey, Andover, Coon Rapids, and Champlin are neighboring cities to Anoka. The main routes in and out of the city are Highway 10, Highway 169, and Highway 47.  Anoka also features a Northstar Commuter Rail Station site which allows transport to downtown Minneapolis.  Anoka has a growing population of 17,142.  


The majority of Anoka residents are within the Anoka Hennepin School District 11 boundaries.  School District 11 is the largest School District in the state of Minnesota.  Here are the following District 11 Schools in Anoka:
